On May 25, from 5pm – 8pm, Africans are celebrating being Proudly African on Africa Day in New York City. The event will be online, live-streamed on the Africa Day NYC Facebook page.
Africa Day is the annual commemoration of the foundation of the African Union (formerly known as Organization of African Unity) in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, on May 25, 1963.
The purpose of Africa Day NYC is to celebrate African unity, the diversity of Africa, our culture, and the potential of our people on the continent and throughout the diaspora.
The Africa Day NYC Organizing Committee members are:
