The Trump administration rescinded a recent policy that required international students to take at least one in-person class or leave the country if their schools are only offering online classes because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Harvard and MIT first filed a lawsuit one week ago challenging the new policy. They were then joined by universities throughout the country that filed amicus briefs in support of the lawsuit. Multiple states also filed separate lawsuits. At the hearing today, U.S. District Judge Allison Burroughs announced the government has agreed to rescind the new student visa policy.
