Harvard and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology filed a lawsuit today against Homeland Security and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) challenging President Trump’s executive order that bars international students from remaining in the U.S. when their schools only offer virtual learning.
On Monday, July 6, President Trump sent shockwaves throughout U.S. colleges and blindsided international students with his announcement that students with F-1 and M-1 visas cannot remain in the country if their school is exclusively providing online learning for the next academic year.
This new policy will have a devastating impact on the lives of the students.
All colleges moving to online learning must advise the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency by July 15.
